hi, can you please confirm which speaker switch it is that comes supplied with this pack? is it one you also sell seperately or do you have any information you can pass on for me to check it out
thanks

Chris says:
The switch sent can depend on stock levels, and is not a fixed product. The swithch we are using at the minute is not one of those avaialable on the site.

I want to connect this to an Apple Airport Express so I can stream music from iTunes to these speakers. What else do I need to do this apart from Airport Express and these speakers? To connect speakers to the Airport Express you can just connect them with a 3.5mm jack.
|
|
Chris says:
You would need to connect these speakers to an amplifier or Hi-Fi system which accepts an input from the Airport Express.

I am looking to connect bathroom ceiling speakers to an Ipod dock that would be in another room.
I am thinking of using a phono wall socket so the ipod an be plugged in and removed easily.
What would you recommend I use/need? I have not purchased anything yet, but am worried about having enough power to run the speakers from the ipod alone.
|
|
Chris says:
You would need to connect the speakers to an amplifier. Some Ipod docking stations have a built-in amplifier to run speakers from - You should be able to connect the speakers to any iPod docking station which has separate speakers.

Hi
I intend to fit these speakers in my bathroom ceiling and connect to my existing Denon cd receiver UD-M31 in the next door bedroom via the speaker switch supplied with this package.
The current speakers supplied with the Denon are 6ohms, the AQUIP6 are 8ohms will this matter ? Also what is the actual o/all dia of the speakers ?
Thanks
Wayne

|
Chris says:
The impedance will not make much difference in this case, as it is greater than the speakers you are using with the system currently.
Full details of the speakers can be found by following the link from the pack contents list on the full details page. The current speakers used in the bathroom pack are the AQTIV 50 - which are only available in white, the AQUIP 6 is supplied if you order a black model. the speakers are technically similar, although the dimensions are different.

Phil D asks: (2007-11-13 09:12:13)
would it be necessary to fit two speakers in a small bathroom (10 feet square) or would 1 create the desired sound effect. (This would allow the other to go into the ensuite).
|
|
Chris says:
The bathroom pack speakers are relatively large, so one would probably be OK in a small space. Obviously, you would not get stereo if you only have one speaker installed, ideally you would want to connect the speakers to a suitable mono source, otherwise you would have the left channel in one room and the right in the other.

Susanna asks: (2007-10-12 12:08:33)
Me again! Would i be better off using a wireless transmitter and apeakers to connect my DAB radio to my bathroom? Thanks
|
|
Chris says:
You could use wireless speakers; it may be easier to connect. Most wireless speakers are not waterproof, so there is the potential that they could become damaged if they get wet.

Susanna asks: (2007-10-12 12:03:17)
Can i use these speakers for a bathroom via a DAB clock radio in my bedroom?
|
|
Chris says:
You could, but you would need to make sure you have a speaker output on your radio or a separate amp which you could use.

sue asks: (2007-09-26 15:02:23)
do you have a tech spec for this system that I can pass on to the electrician.
Any bathroom zone areas it is not suitable for?
My bathroom is pretty small and will get hot, is a ceiling position suitable?
|
|
Chris says:
Bathroom installation is one of the functions they are designed for. They will handle moderate heat, however we do caution against using them in a steam room or sauna with a very high ambient temperature, where the heat can soften some of the components and cause them to warp.
|
|
Nigel says:
You can download the PDF on the Full Details section within the product page. They are fine for ceiling installation.

paul russell asks: (2007-08-04 17:46:41)
can i fit these behind the front grille of a van, directly into a car cd player to play music which can be heard outside a bit like a p a system
|
|
Chris says:
I guess so, they can be fitted almost anywhere if you have something to mount them into. They don't like heat, however, so it is not a good idea to place them too near to the engine or radiator. They are designed to be mounted so that the back is in a dry environment (eg. ceiling/wall cavity) so bear this in mind when choosing a location to fit them. If there is space to mount the AQuila 25, this may be a better option for this type of application.

Yes, these are totally waterproof.

Andrew asks: (2007-04-11 18:40:09)
Can I power these speakers from a Monitor Audio i-Deck. Does it have enough poke to get a good sound from them?
Cheers. A.
|
|
Chris says:
The Monitor Audio i-Deck has an 18 watt output, so connection to either the AQuip or AQute series of speakers will be fine.
the AQtiv 50 is a little on the large side, at 50 Watts, but you would still be able to get some sound out of them.

Question from a very non technical person ..... i want these speakers in my bathroom with an i-pod doc just outside the door that I can plonk my ipod onto and press play. Can I get the conectors and cables to do this? seems like I am missing an amplifier!!!!
|
|
Chris says:
You would need an amplifier to do this, It may be best to give us a call to discuss your specific requirements.

Bette Nichols asks: (2006-05-10 01:01:43)
Are these speakers to be recessed into the ceiing or wall. I would like mine to be recessed into the wall. Will it be necessary to cut a very big hole in the wall and what size should it be if yes.
|
|
Nigel says:
These speakers can be fitted anywhere. The size you need to cut out is 146mm in Diameter.
