When playing internet radio, the radio will use your internet connection. it will not use the internet connection when streaming music from a local source - eg a media library on a local computer.

Listening to an internet radio station on a radio like this uses approximately the same amount of bandwidth as listening to the same internet radio station from your computer. for example a 128 Kbps stream (medium quality) uses 960KB per minute or 56MB per hour of listening.

The radio also uses a very small amount of data to update the settings, clock and station list. It is unlikely you will notice this usage on any broadband connection.

Assuming the audio is in a supported format and is accessible on a computer, there should be no problem.

Presets are stored in non-volatile ram, so a backup battery is not required.

there are several battery powered internet radios, for example the Revo Pico Wi-Fi and the Bush TR2006.

Audio-On-Demand services, for example the BBC's Listen Again service, are available form most internet radios.

It will depend on what format you store your iTunes music library in. The radio will not play protected iTunes Music Store files as far as we are aware.

You can use an internet radio in any country you like. The only limitation would be finding a suitable adaptor to plug the unit into the mains power supply.

Due to the radio's reliance on the internet, a high speed connection is highly recommended, as dial up can be slow, which could cause the radio to pause to buffer information much more frequently, making the radio unusable for many stations.
