Hi I want to install these in my bathroom and run the cables through to my bedroom to run from an ipod docking station, assuming it is powerful enough how would i connect the docking station with has an aux in/out to these speakers? Thanks |
|
Nigel says:
The speakers need power so your ipod dock will need to have an in built amplifier or be connected to one, please call us on 0161 611 7174 and we can discuss your specific needs. |

Hi, I am currently having a property built and i am planning on putting these speakers in my bathroom. Firstly, would the cables be able to be run to a face plate on the wall with two phono leads on it?? Secondly, would i then be able to attach it to my audio out on the back of my TV with a set of phono leads or to my MacBook with a twin phono to jack plug. If so, would the TV and MacBook be sufficient to power the speakers or would i need a separate amplifier? Cheers, Matt |
|
Nigel says:
The cables can go to a face plate but the speakers need to be powered direct from an amplifier and phono connections will not provide that power. |

I've got an old mini hifi which is limited to 5W RMS per channel output. Will this work with these speakers? I appreciate it won't be max. volume, but I won't be using any other speakers at the same time (i.e. can crank the volume up) and it's only for a small bathroom - will they technically *work* or will the audio be too poor/quiet/etc.? |
|
Chris says:
All of the AUQIP series have the same wattage power handling. The AQUIP speakers should work fine with that Hi-Fi.

Could you please confirm that the price of £29.45 is for a pair of speakers? |

Nigel says:
Yes |

I can't see anywhere the connection type on theses speakers. is the speaker cable included/pre attached, or will i need to purchase this seperately. If not attached, what is the connection method? Cheers |
|
Chris says:
The Waterproof speakers have spade terminals, so you can connect using either push-on spade connectors or solder the connection for a more permanent installation. |

I'm strugling to find an amp to use with these speakers! Can you suggest any that will work? |
|
Chris says:
You can use any hi-fi system or separates amplifier to power these speakers.

Doe you sell an amplifier that would help? |
|
Chris says:
We do not sell amplifiers. We do stock DAB Hi-Fi systems which could be used. See aqudos.com for our full range of products. |

I want to link these to a system that is 25rms rated. Would this work? The system comes with a 15w subwoofer and two 5w seperate speakers. Thanks Steve |
|
Chris says:
A system which is only powering 5w speakers may not be powerful enough to drive these speakers. As a result, you are likely to find that these speakers are quieter than the existing ones with the system at the same volume level. We would recommend using an amp which provides output to the speakers at around 15W RMS per channel with these speakers. |

How much recess space do I need? I have a ceiling void of up to 7cms, would that be enough? |
|
Chris says:
The mounting depth from the surface is 37mm. You can see the full dimensions on the data sheet which can be found on the full details tab. |

My electrician has connected these (chased in wall with standard speaker cable) but when I connect to the amplifier no sound comes out. he said he has connected a pair of them but only with a single cable, therefore mono rather than stereo. Can you guess where the mistake could be? Do you have assembly/wiring instructions? |
|
Chris says:
I could guess, however without more information, it would be difficult to be accurate. Please e-mail us with as much infomation as possible about your setup. We would at least need to know the wattage of your amp, whether you have the speakers connected in series or parallel and details of any other speakers or other devices you may have connected to the speaker outputs of your amp. Other infomation like the make/model of your amp, type of speaker cable used and length of the cable run would help. |

can these speakers be used with an ipod? thanks |
|
Nigel says:
Not directly, you need a separate source to power the speakers. |
