I have a wired hi-fi system in the lounge and would like to replace my wired speakers in the kitchen with wireless speakers so as not to run cables after our recent redecoration. If I have both sets of speakers operating will there be a sound delay between the sets of speakers? The kitchen is next to the lounge and the door is usually left open. |
Nigel says:
The sound delay would not be noticeable. |

I am concerned that the apparent low power output will not be able to reproduce large scale classical music - eg opera |
Chris says:
Wattage is a rating of power input, not output, and as the most power-intensive part of the speaker, this determines the battery life. This does affect the sound quality to some degree, but the volume is determined by the sensitivity of the speaker.

Neil B Demandes: (2009-03-10 00:51:14)
The speakers lok great but do you have already or have any plans to introduce speakers with a remote control for the volume? |
Chris says:
We have been asked a couple of times recently about this. I have added it to the requested features list, but I fear adding this feature would significantly increase the price. |
Paul Hopson Demandes: (2008-11-13 10:24:47)
Great quality product, looks and sounds good even through 60cm stone walls of a french farmhouse. Now looking for headphone are there any that will work off the same transmitter? |
Nigel says:
Not that we are aware off at the moment. |
Nico Tam Demandes: (2008-04-17 04:19:39)
I want to use with my Toshiba TV, Can I connect the transmitter to the Audio System output (RCA cable). What is the different between AQ Wireless Speakers - Beech and the deluxe one Thanks |
Nigel says:
You can connect the transmitter to line level outputs or a headphone socket. The difference between the 2 styles is the paint finish. |
John Fairless Demandes: (2008-04-07 20:18:08)
Do I need to buy the deluxe speakers if I want to add additional speakers in future.Or will the standard speakers allow me to use additional speakers as well? |
Chris says:
You can add any variety of the AQ speakers, they will all work from the transmitter included with any set. |
saffron Demandes: (2008-02-19 17:06:19)

Steve Demandes: (2007-12-11 17:45:23)
Hi, I'd like to use wireless speakers for the rear set of a dolby 5.1 surround sound system. As 5.1 uses a different signal for each rear speaker do I need to buy 2 separate transmitters and 4 speakers (but only use 1 speaker for each transmitter)? |
Chris says:
The speakers are stereo, so you already have 2 audio channels on the transmitter, you would only need one set. |
Nick Demandes: (2007-11-12 22:03:18)
What type of power adapter do they use? US, UK or european (I am going to use them in Italy)? |
Chris says:
The speakers are supplied with UK power supplies if the order is placed on the UK site.
john gillespie Demandes: (2007-11-12 21:56:38)
Loved the speakers, so just got another set to use with 2 different sources- on the presumption that both sources on channel 1 would both use all 4 speakers. This is true, but the volume coming through speakers is horribly different from each source- how can this be brought to same output level? |
Chris says:
This depends on the source, most audio sources have a volume control which can be adjusted to change their output level. |
Graeme Jopson Demandes: (2007-09-04 21:23:01)
Who makes these speakers? Thanks, Graeme |
Nigel says:

Mike Demandes: (2007-08-24 18:11:01)
I have just bought an apple mac airport extreme unit. Will these speakers be recognised by ths unit? |
Chris says:
Wireless speakers of this type have nothing to do with wireless computer networks.

Hi Iam looking to listen to my hifi in a different room but 3 watts doesnt seem very loud..and I dont want to mess about changing batteries but do have a power source...yet the only other speakers you list are £2000...is there nothing in between? |
Nigel says:
Not at the moment, we hope to see some advances next year. You can power the AQ speakers off the mains. |
Nigel Thorpe Demandes: (2007-07-02 20:53:43)
Hi does each speaker have its own volume control and can i have just one on at a time if i require, do you realy think the delux finish is worth the extra money |
Martin says:
Each speakers does have its own volume control. The technology is the same as the normal prices speakers. However the finish on the deluxe speakers are of a higher quality as they are a gloss finish. |
Jack Demandes: (2007-05-24 13:33:36)
Does anyone know how long the batteries will last; I know this will vary from brand to brand. BUt someone must have a rough Idea is it: 1hour or 6 hours etc. Thanks Jack |
Martin says:
This does depend on the volume level. We would say approximately 8 hours if they are on constantly at a moderate volume setting |
gk Demandes: (2007-05-08 10:55:30)
do u get batteries with the speakers?? if not what kind do they take?? thanks |
Martin says:
You do get batteries with these. They take x6 standard AA batteries |
gem Demandes: (2007-05-01 19:29:41)

Hi Ive just brought a new 50" Philip's plasma TV and love the idea of upping the sound ! fixing these speakers to wall or ceiling with no wire . wood these speakers Mach the sound of a reasonable wired sis tom |
Nigel says:
These speakers provide 3-4 watts of output power. They will work perfectly well with your Plasma, but the performance level is down to your personal preference. |
robert Demandes: (2007-04-20 19:07:15)
will these speakers work for a laptop pc? |
Nigel says:
Simple, Yes they will via the headphone socket. |
Becky Demandes: (2007-04-19 13:14:10)
Another question.... Undre the spec it says the signal to noise ratio is: >50 - this could could mean anything greater then 50 - please could you be more specific? Many thanks |
Chris says:
The SNR is >50dB. the exact ratio will depend on the volume of your input and the amount of interferance in your area. |
Mikkel Hvidtfeldt Demandes: (2007-03-26 19:18:54)
Looks great! Are the batteries rechargable, so they charge whenever the speakers are connected to power supply? |
Martin says:
These batteries arent rechargable unfortunately. However it does take AA batteries so you could always use rechargeable AA batteries in them and use a battery charger. |
gill Demandes: (2007-03-16 20:33:03)
may seem like a silly q, but do wireless speakers only work with batteries? can they be somehow run by mains or charged by mains power? |
Nigel says:
They can be powered by the mains. Each speaker has its own power supply. |
Steve Croucher Demandes: (2007-03-01 08:14:35)
Can I run 2 different pairs of speakers of 2 different transmitters, such that I can have one pair with one music source, and the other with a different one, or will the transmitters interfere with one another? |
Chris says:
Theoretically, this is possible. There are three different channels on the transmitter.
Eric Bowman Demandes: (2007-02-27 20:00:16)
can I use these speakers with other speakers attached to my Hi Fi at the same time, as these arw wired? |
Chris says:
You can connect to the line output socket, if you have one, or use a Goodmans Transmitter Mate to connect to the speaker output of your Hi-Fi. this will allow you to listen to both speakers at the same time. |
Chris Currie Demandes: (2007-02-26 20:47:37)
how many speakers can I hook up from the one Transmitter |
Nigel says:
Theoretically you can have as many as you wish. We have tested with upto 4 pairs with a good signal. |
mark roe Demandes: (2007-02-08 18:09:51)
Can these be used in a bathroom |
Nigel says:
They are not waterproof or splashproof. Of course they will work anywhere but not advised in wet areas. |
Chris Demandes: (2007-02-07 16:53:32)
What sort of sound quality can I expect from these speakers, is as good as good quality wired speakers? |
Chris says:
as always with wireless speakers, you get the possibility of interferance, and the other problems associated with transmission.
Sylvia Tomlin Demandes: (2007-02-04 14:18:01)
Do you have a shop where we could have a demonstration and view before we buy. Thanks |
Nigel says:
We do not have a retail outlet, If you purchase the speakers you have 14 days to return them if not satisfied. The packaging must be 100%. |
Chris Demandes: (2007-02-01 00:00:10)
I would like to use your speakers in a different room to the transmitter. The distance is about 15m with two brick walls between the rooms. Will these operate satisfactorily? |
Chris says:
There should be no problem operating at that didstance, even through walls. |

Bert Knox Demandes: (2006-11-13 10:58:56)
AQ Wireless Speakers Deluxe - other than price and colour, what difference is there between the deluxe speakers and the existing 'wood' speakers? Also, is availability still expected by 10th December? |
Nigel says:
The Deluxe speakers come in a much more stylish finish than the standard AQ Wireless Speakers. They have a "piano" finish - which is a smooth, high gloss effect.
