The transmitter only lights up when there is an audio signal being transmitted. It will only light up briefly when you switch it on if no music is being played. Please try to play muisc through them and see if it still works, if not please contact us on 0161 611 7174.

The speakers should not be left on when they are not in use. They will scan for any available signal, and tune to anything which may be a signal. It is also a waste of power.

The AUX socket is more likely to be an input than an output, however if it is an output then you could connect the transmitter to there.

All models of iPod have a headphone socket, so you could connect the transmitter direct to the iPod itself. Models which do not have the headphone socket on the same end as the dock connector allow you to use the headphone socket at the same time as charging.

If you connect the Wireless speakers to the line output on the back of the Legato 2 and have the legato set to line level output (rather than variable operation) then the speakers can be controlled independently, so all the options you want are easily accessible using the volume controls on the legato and speakers.

It sounds like the input volume is not loud enough - the transmitter will switch off automatically if there is no input, or it is too quiet to be transmitted correctly. Try turning the volume up on your audio device.

The earth has nothing to do with humming or interference on the mains, it is there to provide an outlet for potentially high voltages, should something go awry in a mains-voltage appliance. the earth cable can occasionally transport a noise from a poorly constructed appliance, but the lack of connection in this instance would reduce, rather than increase the chance that your speakers would be affected by this.

if you were using the speakers with the mains power supplies, and only one was showing the problem, my first thought would be a bad power supply - however, if the problem is also occurring when using batteries, then it is more likely that there is a power supply problem with another appliance - possibly near the transmitter or the audio device you have the speakers connected to.

You need an audio output of some sort to connect these speakers to.

You cold connect the speakers to whatever audio output you like. If you have a stereo input, your result would still be stereo, albeit from two different places.

One of the main features of the AQ Wireless speakers is that you can connect them to almost any audio device, all you need is a headphone socket (or a line level output). You could even connect the transmitter to most iPod docking stations (assuming it has an audio output connector) to enable easy charging whilst you listen.

You could connect as many sets of our wireless speakers as you want to the same transmitter, so you can listen to music throughout the house.

You can either use one transmitter, and connect it to the source you want to listen to, or use two transmitters and leave them connected, switching the power on to the one you want to use.

There are several possibilities for the delay.

As with any wireless device, there will be a slight delay between the direct sound and the signal which is transmitted, this is caused by the processing ant transmission/reception of the signal.

If you are using a separate video device (EG DVD, Digital or SKY box, you may be connecting further back in the chain, so the audio would be processed separately by the TV and wireless speakers, which may change the delay.

If you have a Line OUT on your TV, you can connect the speakers to that, earphone sockets generally do cut off the sound to any built-in speakers.

If you have a scart socket on your TV, you may be able to use a scart adaptor (see bottom of page for details of this product)

You could buy a headphone splitter. This will enable you to have both your transmitter and another set of speakers linked up at the same time. You can buy one from the Wireless Accessories Page on the website for £2.95.

If you have speakers which require connecting to an amplifier, you can send an audio signal using a transmitter, for example the Oono Transmita.

The speaker power is about 3 watts (5 watt max).

However, the speakers are sensitive, wattage is a power input figure, rather than a sound output figure, and is an indication of the amount of power a speaker uses; Wireless speakers using, say 50 watts of power may sound a little better, but would use a set of batteries every minute, which isn't exactly convenient.

Based on a power usage of 3 watts, these speakers sound excellent, and will almost certainly have a much better sound than the built-in speakers in your laptop.

You can connect the wireless transmitter from any wireless spakers to an amplified speaker outputusing a Goodmans Transmitter Mate.

The speakers can be hung onto the wall via two screw holes. They can also stand. The mains cable for the speakers is 180cm long.

The tested range through brick walls is 30m. I woul dbe happy to allow you to purchase the speakers and if not suitable you can return them. Subject to being re saleable. As for the Bass quality it is true that they are not sub woofer quality however there is bass present and the sound is clear and plenty loud enough.

The most likely solution is that the iPod volume isn't sufficient. To save power, when there is no input, the transmitter will automatically switch off. If the iPod or the music on it is very quiet, the transmitter may not detect the input, and therefore switch off after a couple of minutes. to solve your problem, all you need to do is turn the volume on the iPod up a bit. the speaker volume control can then be used to turn the sound level down if it is too loud.

Tim, you will need a PROD, this will allow you to play both the wireless speakers and the stereo speakers at the same time.

Jamie, These speakers can work with anything that has a headphone socket or phono sockets. You would need to buy the Speaker Leads to Phono Adaptor if you wanted to listen to both the wireless speakers and the stereo speakers, and you do not have phono sockets. If you already have phono sockets that will also allow you to listen to both, and you do not need the adaptor.

Georgia, Yes you can hang these on the walls, without a mount, there are 2 cut outs on the back of the speakers, they enable them to be walled mounted, by hooking on to screws in a wall.

Neil A very difficult question to answer since it depends on the volume and battery quality. If you intend to use them permanentlly - for example around the house then plugging them in using the supplied AC adaptor is preferable. on the other hand, using them outside for a BBQ or similar, then the battery option is better. Good quality batteries at reasonable sound volumes for ana hour or two each day should last for about a week.

Bert, Certainly - just use the headphone socket on the PC or the twin phono outputs - adaptors are included for both.

John, you can't drive the transmitter unit directly from the loudspeaker outputs as the signal levels will be far to high.

We can supply a small interface unit that has bared leads for connecting to the loudspeaker output terminals and has two phono sockets that will ouput the left and right signals to the transmitter unit via a supplied connnecting lead.

From personal experience I know that the iPod works really well with these speakers, and its really easy to setup and manage.
Your iPod can be plugged directly into the transmitter via the 3.5mm headphone socket that comes with the transmitter. Then you just need to position your speakers wherever you want them. As the audio signal is sent wirelessly you can place them in different rooms and still hear your iPod.
By purchasing PROD (if needed) you can add sound throughout your home from your iPod. The transmitter can transmit to as many sets of speakers as you need.

The transmiter connects to the source via a 3.5mm jack - which can plug into a headphone socket or a line out (if the line out is suitable - line outs can vary).
ALSO, the transmitter can connect to the Phono out via included adaptors. ie splitting the 3.5mm plug into 2 (left and right) phono plugs.
