Can this radio receive all BBC local stations using Real Media audio . ie would it receive BBC Newcastle for example Thank you. |

If the station is streamed over the internet, and you can listen to it on your computer, this radio will be able to receive it. |

michael asks: (2008-04-23 19:13:30)
Is there any way to close down all the other useless Pico links? aq is the first I have found which provides useful information! I checked reviews and bought a Pico. It is superb. Only gripe: 5 presets is far too few. Why did they settle for so few??? Sadly, this is hardware. In due time I will buy another with lots of presets! Hopefully a child of Revo Pico... |
|
Chris says:
The Revo Pico Wi-Fi uses the Reciva technology, so a custom station list can be created from the Reciva website - all you need to do is set up a free account. It isn't quite as easy to access as the pre-sets, but it does ensure you don't need to go searching for your favourite stations. |

Michele asks: (2007-09-12 18:55:20)
Hello...how long does it take for the unit to start up (i.e. how long do you have to wait between switching the unit on and getting sound)? Is it the same for all wifi radios or some models are better than others with respect to this? Thanks! |
|
Chris says:
The main delay when switching the radio on would be connecting to the network and loading the station. This will be similar with all radios of this type, the speed of your network/internet connection may make a difference. |
|
Chris asks: (2007-09-07 02:51:15)
Could you please tell me if there any plans to introduce a WiFi radio with a record feature - ie an SD card. Thanks. |
|
Chris says:
Not that we are aware of.
|
|
Nick asks: (2007-09-05 21:59:33)
Hi Chris, Could the presets be more than 5 with software updates in the future! |
|
Chris says:
The preset buttons are a hardware feature on the remote control, you cannot add more with a firmware update.

Peter asks: (2007-09-04 10:07:13)
Will it connect to a hi fi system? Will it compile playlsts from my music on the PC and will it "shuffle play" music files? When playing music files, are artist & song details displayed? |
|
Chris says:
You could connect this radio to a Hi-Fi system using the headphone socket on this radio.

Tom asks: (2007-08-23 08:51:31)
I received one of these radios yesterday and managed to connect it to my wireless network, but when listening to the radio playback is frequently interrupted while the radio 'buffers' the incoming signal. What are the likely causes? |
|
Chris says:
There are many possible causes of buffering pauses in internet radio, here are the major ones, in no particular order.

Rudolf Schnaps asks: (2007-08-10 19:17:55)
Is it possible to connect LAN cable directly into receiver or it is only wi-fi? Thank You |
|

The Pico is Wi-Fi only. |
|

Hi, Does this work anywhere in the world? Are there any restrictions since i am looking to use this in India? Will all the UK sports channels be available? |
|
Chris says:
The radio will work anywhere in the world. The only requirements are a suitable power source and a Wi-Fi Internet connection. |

|
mike asks: (2007-07-17 21:38:15)
How is the security of a 'secure' wireless router in a property bypassed by the unit? |
|
Chris says:
It isn't bypassed, If you have security enabled on your wireless network, you will need to enter the key into the radio before it will be allowed to connect.

|
Chris Roberts asks: (2007-06-28 21:19:01)
You say the remote is not included in the Questions but the full details of the product indicates it does. What is correct detail? Also how long does internal battery last using WiFi facility? |
|
Martin says:
The remote control for this isnt included in with the Revo Pico. It is optional and can be bought from our website for £9.95.

Laura Coates asks: (2007-06-15 00:14:54)
is the sound mono or is it simulated stereo?... is the unit sturdy or plasticy?... |
|
Martin says:
This is a well built unit and it is very sturdy. The Pico is mono sound as it uses only the one speaker that is built into it, however the headphones are stereo. |
|
sean hogan asks: (2007-06-11 11:04:40)
what happens when the internal UNremovable lit batt runs out. |
|
Chris says:
If the battery power runs out, simply connect the battery to the mains to charge it.
|
|
Nigel asks: (2007-06-08 10:18:26)
I know it is difficult to be exact but how far should a wifi radiate from a router... |
|
Chris says:
The distance which a Wi-fi signal reaches will depend on a lot of things, for example, the transmission strength, which may vary depending on the make and model of the router. The number of walls and the material they are made of and even the humidity can have some affect the effective distance of a wi-fi system.

Peter asks: (2007-05-31 07:32:22)
Does pico wifi have a sleep function and is the remote included |
|
Martin says:
The Pico Wi-Fi doesn't have any alarm functions I'm afraid, so this also rules out a sleep timer.
