This QED SS50 speaker switch enables connection and switching of up to five pairs of speakers from a stereo amplifier.
A unique feature of the design is the impedance matching feature. The first pair of speakers ('A') use direct switching for best sound quality. The remaining four pairs ('B1' to 'B4') use transmatch convertion to transform the net 2 ohms load back to 8 ohms for safe amplifier operation. The resulting impedance loading with all pairs selected is 4 ohms (using five pairs of 8 ohm speakers).
