You probably have split high and low frequency, or possibly have speakers with built-in surround components - I am unaware of speakers which have different impedance inputs. In either case, you would need to use 2 speaker switches, in order to keep the signals separate.

Each switch can handle 2 channels, which are usually the left and right. In this case, there are two ways of connecting - either use on switch for the highs and the other for the lows, or use one switch for both left signals and the other for both right signals - this allows you to switch off each speaker independently.
