AQ Wireless Speakers - Beech

I live in Italy and bought these speakers to enable me to listen to BBC radio, via the internet on my PC, throughout the rest of the house. Very easy to set up and work through the very thick stone walls of my home. After demonstrating them to other British expats living here I know that 3 others have now bought them and are also very happy.

Very reasonable sound quality, more then have been expecting for £65 plus easy instalation and fast delivery. Isn't that a pip :)

No more do I have to tear clumps of hair out trying to tune the radio. Nor do I have to feel forgotten and discriminated against as we cannot get a reliable digital signal! Radio via the pc is brilliant, receivable in any room in the house! Website is excellent, ordering easy and fast, delivery at the speed of light (well, almost!). Great product, fantastic service - what more could I ask for?

I purchased these speakers along with a Pure One DAB. This is the perfect combination. The Pure One is portable - good sound and reception (mono). The speakers are excellent and produce a great stereo sound from the DAB. The background hum can easily be overcome in my experience, by turning up the volume on the source and keeping the speaker volume at a reasonable level. Quality is excellent and volume is good. I haven't tried them with batteries yet. Also good with the TV and v. good with my mobile phone MP3's.

Speakers arrived promptly and well packed.

Two problems, there is a loud hum independent of the volume control when using the supplied mains adaptors (absent when using the speakers on batteries), and here in rural France the metre thick internal walls of our old farmhouse restrict the signal to a distance of about 20 metres maximum between transmitter and speakers.

Excellent delivery from AQ DAB...they came well packaged and only one day after the order was placed :) The wreless speakers are a very easy setup and the music from them is good. THe range is excellent with no noticeable delay. After one week's use, I'm a very happy customer together with my Pure DMX-60 Hi-Fi. Thank you AQ DAB.

A well packed box arrived complete with batteries and all connections required just a few days after order. E-mails advised of order progress throughout. After a heart stopping minute while the auto tuning looked for the transmitter (it doesn't look like anything is happening during this process) suddenly clear music burst into the kitchen - just what we needed, the transmitter even switches itself off when without an input. This is not Hi Fi neither is it Lo-Fi - perfectly adequate Fi (PA-FI)

Took up the offer of half price wireless speakers when buying my Evoke DAB. Ordered Friday and delivered on Monday (although reading the other reviews that would appear to be normal service for AQ, shame it's not the norm for some other companies) Excellent abd very well packaged.

Took them out of the box turned them and the DAB on and went for a walk down the garden.

As per the experience of others, 5 stars for the ordering service – no complaints at all.
Regarding the product, you get 3 mains adaptors out of the box, one for the transmitter and one for each speaker.
The speakers make a little background hiss when the transmitter is not active, so you’ll want to be able to get to them to switch them off when not in use.
There’s no noticeable delay between the source system and the speakers, so you can place the speakers in adjacent rooms and there’ll be no annoying echo effects. The transmitter has no problems working over a ground floor through several interior walls, and you can switch it to mono mode if you are going to separate the speakers in different rooms.
Quality-wise, best to think of them more like a decent pair of computer speakers rather than a full hi-fi setup. Sound is a little compressed - both the high-end and bass are a little lacking, which gets more pronounced if you crank the volume up.
In summary, terrific way to get ‘background’ music through your home, but you may be a little disappointed if you’re trying to replace your main stereo system.

Same old thing i was having a party and wanted saome wireless speakers for the garden. Nice piece of kit, good looking and slim (I'm on about me) Personally i think they need to have more power/volume the sound quality was good over a distance of 30 metres and through 3 walls. I found the battery compartment a little difficult to put the batteries in. It felt like i might break them,

But this review isnt about the speakers its about the company. Im very pleased with the customer relationship side. One of my speakers had a slight buzz, I emailed AQ on sunday, had a reply monday and tuesday a new replacement speaker was waiting for me. I will send the other one back ASAP. I have never know such a fantastic service 6 stars.

Really good speakers and surprisingly so for the cost. Got them for a party and had music in every room running from my ipod. Recommended.

Unboxed and running in minutes, these speakers fill any room in the house with great sound and are particularly good in the garden without all the trailing wires or extensions.

I have been trying to find a suitable product to play my music library from my PC throughout the rest of the house and although I was initially sceptic I took the plunge on the strength of the reviews-and feel I made an excellent choice.

I can't wait to see my brother-in-law's face when he sees what I've achieved for £64.95 when he's just spent £thousands on a Bose Lifestyle without the same flexibility!!.

Ordered on 20th May and arrived on 23rd as requested. Excellent service and delivery. Unpacked speakers and within 2 minutes had sound pumping out of all 4 speakers.

Ordered them for my 30th Party BBQ. Will make it a better day from start to finish having these speakers. Anyone thinking of getting them.......Just do it!!

Ordered on the 21st May and delivered first thing on 23rd. I was torn between these and the Goodman - made the right decision. Instant set up, good looks and great sound even in garden at 150 feet from transmitter. Great value!

Been looking at our hi-fi problem that we have in a house that was built in 1860.

Nigh on impossible to route cables to get the full hi-fi experience throughjout the home/thick walls - all designed to pull your hair out.

NOW I HAVE AQ WIRELESS - headache gone.

These speakers represent so much VFM its unreal. Straight out the box - plug them in and instant sound.

We have sound wherever we want to put the speakers, garden bathroom, lounge kitchen - ANYWHERE!!

I have now ordered a further three sets - they are that good.

No more trailing wires - and a happy wife to boot!

Ordered the speakers 1PM and they arrived the following morning via UPS... What a service and FREE too.

Make no mistake, using UPS costs any business extra so when they use this service above cheaper couriers you know you have added customer service.

Takes a lot to impress me but boy, have you done just that.

I've wanted speakers I can use in the garden & around the house for ages. I have trailed wires, had a laptop out in the garden & all sorts, now I have the proper solution.

For £65 I wasn't sure what to expect - sound is better than I expected & the simplicity completes a great package.

If you want £200 wired speaker performance don't buy them. If you want something that works straight out of the box & provides music in the places you don't have it now go for it.

Much better than your average PC speakers.

It would be hard to not be satisfied with my speakers since the kind team at AQ picked my review on the AudiaX transmitter as the December winner, so I didn't have to use my hard earned cash on this occasion! But even if I had paid the £79.95 I think I would have had value for money.

First impressions upon opening the box is how good they look. The light beech effect trim would match anyone's decor.

Set up time is only a few minutes as the tuning operation is automatic and the red LED on the transmitter only lights up when receiving audio output. The speaker LED's are also very good as they show red to warn you they are switched on (saving your batteries) but not receiving signal and change to orange when they are.

Built in legs allow you to stand the speaker on a window cill or shelf or there's a hole in the back to wall hang them.

They do take a rather large number of batteries, but if you don't mind loosing some of the portability, power packs are provided for both speakers and the transmitter.

The only problem I find is that there or no volume markers on the control wheel so I do end up getting up and down from my seat until the two are balanced properly - though I could do with the exercise so its not really a bad thing!

All in all they are really great for casual use to bring your music to rooms that other speakers just wouldn't reach.

Wishing to replace the "wired" rear speakers on my 5 to 1 surround sound system with wireless ones I ordered a pair of AQ Stereo Wireless Speakers on January 25th and they were delivered the very next day postage free.

Well packaged, they connected directly to the jack plugs recently used by the wired ones without the need for an adaptor. No tuning was required and they look great the sound quality is excellent for their size and they work perfectly with the 5 to 1 system.
No messy wires now.

My wooden AQ Stereo Wireless Speakers arrived a day earlier than expected, so I was already off to a good start.

Within 5 mins of opening the very well packaged box I was listening to music from my laptop computer throughout the house. For me the sound was excellent. They pack more of a punch than you'd expect. They also look great which was another deciding factor in opting for the AQ speakers.

So now my entire music collection is on an external hard drive and I can place these speakers anywhere in the house for my own customised wire free jukebox. I'll certainly be spreading the word about these speakers.

having worked in the music industry since the age of 19 I tend not to be too excited about things like mixing desks, microphones and indeed speakers. however, I'm currently in my office listening to itunes through my AQ Stereo Wireless speakers... there are no wires!!! whatever will they think of next... if they could just design an intelligent speaker that ruses to play certain songs we'd all be happier. I'm probably going to buy some more for the kitchen.

AQ Wireless Speakers - I ordered them around midday, they arrived with the post at 09:00 the next morning. Had them connected in the time it took me to crawl round the floor & feed wires to my set up. They worked straight away! I'm so impressed that I need some more for other parts of the house - thought I'd write a review to see if I could get a free set before ordering some more!

Just received my AQ wireless speakes. they look very stylish. Setting them up was very simple, out of the box and playing my favourite tunes in less than 5 minutes! The sound quality, if I'm absoloutely hones,t is not quite as good as that from my wired traditional Wharfedales but the portability of the AQs more than makes up for this. The on line purchasing process was really simple and straight forward. I chose the 3-5 day delivery but the speakers arrived on the 2nd day, very impressive.

I have bought these after the rave reviews I received from my brother. I wanted to enhance the versatility of my home audio system and be able to listen to what we are playing anywhere in the house. I considered purchasing a second cheaper hifi system for upstairs, but then my brother enthused about these little beauties!
I am so pleased that he made my ears bleed for weeks about them. I have to say that I was a little apprehensive, with regards to the quality of sound and interference as I live in an old house with 'proper' walls, but the quality and consistecy is fantastic! They are cracking in the summer too as I can lounge in the garden and have Max Bygraves bleating in my ear to my hearts content. Thanx bro' and thanx AQ x x

I'm not sure what they're missing but they are missing something.

They look good. They work fine. Maybe I'm just fussy. But they lack a certain something. I'm sorry I can't put my finger on it. Thought maybe I might find someone else with the same thoughts if I posted this.

Don't get me wrong. They're good, and the cheapest around in this style. But I just wanted a little more. Maybe more power? Maybe slightly smaller? Maybe a darker wood?

If you have any idea what I'm "missing" please put me out of my "misery".

Great stylish speakers, excellent value for money, good sound quality and easy to use. There is only one problem; if you use batteries (even rechargable ones) they seem to only last for about 4-5 days before they need to be powered up again. Besides that great buy, great to carry around anywhere within range.

Fanatastic for round the house music. as someone else has said, not the highest HiFi but more than adequate for most Radio and even DAB. Now everyone can listen to TOG radio in the morning - risey shiny!!!! I have one in each room, transmitterset to Mono - marvellous

I admit these speakers look nice, but I was more interested in how they performed and how they would connect up to my existing systems.
At first the connections was a bit of a worry. Whilst I could plug it into my MP3 player without issue I wanted to use it with my Hi Fi and TV. The problem here was that I lost the exisitng speakers when I did as the units assumed I was using headphones.
The transmitter is provided along with a phono converter which would be great if my Hi Fi worked like that!! But it doesn't. So I contacted AQ to see if they could solve the problem. Very helpfully they sold me a Transmitter Mate from Goodmans. And this does the job.
So now I'm happy. Well I can get sound out of them. Which leads me on to.....
The sound is good, not awesome, but good. But you have to realise what you are buying. These are wireless speakers and early efforts at them. It will be some time before audiophile quality comes along.
They work great with the Tv and running off my MP3 player - when plugged into my Hi Fi they cannot compete with the wired speakers - but stick them in the dining room and they are perfect. The quality of sound is good, they just lack some "umph" at higher volume.
All said and done these met my needs perfectly - portable/battery powered/look good/sound good - as soon as they produce a seriously powerful and quality wireless speaker I will be at the front of the cue.

Glad to see someone has made some decent looking speakers. Have seen this model in a number of guises on a number of websites. Took the plunge with the AQ ones as they were 30 quid cheaper than anywhere else. Money well spent.

Bought these a week ago. They sound good considering they are wieless speakers. Not nearly as powerful as my wired speakers but thats the price you pay!!!

Got these when they were on special offer - great value for money. Have them in my kitchen and they do the job nicely.
