The AQ SUB-AQUA 30 is a 30 Watt speaker designed for installation in all underwater environments, and is ideal for use in swimming pools. The AQ SUB-AQUA 30 is completely encased in rubber, which eliminates any corrosion or electrolysis damage.
Although the speaker is only capable of a mono (single channel) sound, a stereo sound can be acheived by adding a second speaker, one at each end of the pool. 2 speakers will provide sufficient sound for a quiet (domestic) swimming pool of 20 meters x 10 meters, a single speaker will provide sufficient sound for a pool approximately half the size. Please note that these sizes are approximate and rely upon a number of factors including the depth of the pool.

Important Information
- This loudspeaker is rated at 30 Watts RMS.
- Excessive bass frequencies will damage this unit. Any bass boost functions should be avoided. Over-driving this loudspeaker will void any warranty. Do not connect to mains power.
- The UWS30 is designed to be operated in water only.
- This product is not designed for out of water use. Over heating may occur if used out of water.
Installation
The AQ SUB-AQUA 30 underwater speaker can be installed either as a permanent installation in a wet niche or as a temporary solution, which can be removed when not in use. To avoid sound disruption by surface currents we recommend installing at a depth of at least 1 metre below the surface.

- Permanent
- The speakers can be installed in an underwater lighting installation back box (not provided) 103mm X 103mm min. 75mm depth.
- Temporary
- The speaker can easily be suspended using 2 or more of the installation eyes on the speaker and a suitable piece of rope or chain to avoid undue strain being placed on the cable. For frequent use in this way, we recommend using a suitable fixture (metal grommets) to reinforce the speaker fixing eyes, as this will prolong the service life of the surrounding rubber.
The speaker should not be dangled by the cable as this will direct the sound to the bottom of the pool and could cause damage to the cable.
